Cape May will embrace the spirit of the iconic 1969 Woodstock festival with its own tribute event, Capestock. Running from Friday, August 16, through Sunday, August 18, 2024, this three-day music festival promises to capture the essence of Woodstock right on the beach behind Cape May Convention Hall.

A Celebration of Woodstock’s Legacy

In the summer of 1969, the original Woodstock festival became a symbol of peace, music, and cultural revolution. Now, 55 years later, Capestock aims to rekindle that magic with a stellar lineup of tribute bands honoring the legendary performers who graced the Woodstock stage.

“It’s amazing that the Capestock musicians are able to recreate the energy of Woodstock, 55 years after the original performances, which are legendary,” said Zachary Mullock, Mayor of Cape May. “Whether they choose a one-day ticket that includes the music of their favorite bands or a three-day pass for the entire weekend, visitors will undoubtedly enjoy these amazing tributes.”

Festival Lineup and Schedule

Capestock kicks off on Friday, August 16, with a lineup designed to thrill fans of classic rock and blues. The day’s performances include:

  • Everyday People: Bringing the grooves of Sly and the Family Stone to life.
  • Hotlanta: Delivering an authentic Allman Brothers Experience.
  • Just Like Janis: Capturing the raw power and emotion of Janis Joplin.

On Saturday, August 17, the festival features:
