Grateful Dead co-founder Bobby Weir is set to make a historic return to London with his first performance in the city in over two decades. Weir will take the stage at the legendary Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, June 21, 2025, for an extraordinary evening of music, featuring a full 68-piece orchestra. This marks not only his first appearance at this iconic venue but also his first London show in 22 years.
Weir will be joined by his Wolf Bros bandmates, including GRAMMY-winning producer Don Was on bass, and fellow Dead & Company band members Jeff Chimenti on piano and Jay Lane on drums. Together, they will present two full sets of music, offering a unique and expansive reimagining of Grateful Dead classics, songs from Weir’s solo catalog, and other highlights from his storied career. For the first time ever in the UK, these tunes will be performed live with the full orchestral arrangement—an experience that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.
The orchestral project that will take center stage at Royal Albert Hall isn’t a new venture for Weir, though. It first debuted in 2022 with a sold-out four-night run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where Weir and his bandmates collaborated with the National Symphony Orchestra. Following that success, the tour has traveled across the U.S., making stops with prestigious orchestras, including the Stanford Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Philharmonic, among others. The original arrangements were crafted by renowned composer Dr. Giancarlo Aquilanti, a Stanford professor whose work has brought a fresh and symphonic perspective to the Grateful Dead’s music.
Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime event will go on sale soon, with a series of presales kicking off Wednesday, April 2 at 2PM BST. General sales will follow on Friday, April 4 at 4PM BST. Fans can sign up for the artist presale at www.bobweir.net.
